| Bottlebrush
parrot toys and in-cage perches.
Captive parrots deal with
several maladies resulting from captivity.
Two of these are foot and beak
problems. This is more of a problem then most owners realize and the
items on this page will help you deal with both of these problems.
Foot problems.
In the wild, your bird would spend their days flying and landing in naturally barked trees.
If the tree their standing in is uncomfortable, they just fly to another,
more comfortable one. Caged birds don't have that
opportunity. Most
in-cage perches available for birds are hard and slippery.
Manzanita, Grapevine, Java Wood , etc are commonly used because they
last. However, this wood doesn't have natural bark and is basically
hard and slippery. Look at the bottom of your birds feet.
They're designed to mesh with bark, not smooth slippery perches. Bark is necessary for perching because
it doesn't require HOLDING ON or GRIPPING. Your bird needs to be
able to stand and NOT hold on all the time For your bird, holding on all the time is unnatural,
and basically, causes their feet to hurt and age unnaturally. Most
of you have PEDICURE PERCHES. These are textured and your bird likes them because they
don't require holding on. However, these are like you and I standing
on a rough sidewalk all day and night.
Beak
problems. Have
you ever had your parrots beaked groomed? Why? Because birds
beaks grow constantly and Chewing and Gnawing is how birds keep they groomed. In
the wild, parrots would visit certain trees specifically for chewing and
gnawing. They don't have that opportunity in your home. They
only have what we provide them. There are tons of parrot CHEW toys
in all sizes, colors, etc. Again, they are designed for chewing but
only provide half of what your bird needs. Ask for GNAWING toys and
you won't find any. Gnawing is a
distinct behavior and requires wood that isn't too hard or too soft.
The lack of Gnawing wood actually leads to what I call CHEWING DEFICIT.
Chewing Deficit
is what I call the end result of not having Gnawing wood. It can
manifest itself in a variety of ways. An obsessive need to chew,
nonstop. These birds almost seem insatiable. Some scream incessantly,
some exhibit aggressive behavior. Many will wander around your home
destroying furniture, molding, staircases etc. These birds realize
their beaks are growing and need to be groomed, but they can't find a way
to do it. Over time, frustration grows and even leads to plucking
and self mutilation. Sounds pretty bleak. Not as bad as it feels for
your bird though. So, what's the solution?
Bottlebrush is
perfect for chewing AND Gnawing.
Here's what happens. You get your Bottlebrush gym, perches, toy
wood, etc and immediately, your bird suddenly realizes he's found what he
needs. Usually, they go to town making up for lost time.
Bottlebrush Bark is soft and chewy and your bird will LOVE IT. Once
thru the bark, they get down to gnawing. You'll literally hear your
bird grinding Bottlebrush. That's gnawing, and what your bird needs
the most. And, once you get your Bottlebrush stuff, you've solved
your birds chewing and gnawing needs. Imagine how much money
you would save if you didn't have to buy any more chew
toys. That's what I offer on this page and with my Bottlebrush
gyms.
Bottlebrush will
solve both of these problems.
The naturally barked texture makes my perches extremely comfortably to
stand on, your bird will choose these over all others. Plus,
Bottlebrush is great for chewing and perfect for Gnawing, not too hard or too soft, right in the
middle.
If you want to
try my Bottlebrush stuff,
and change your birds life the day you receive your order, try some of the
stuff on this page. I'm confident you'll realize there's something
very special about Bottlebrush, and want it to be a part of your birds
life. And, If it doesn't do everything I say
it will, return it for a full refund.

Bottlebrush in-cage perches.
Considering that our parrots spend virtually all of their time on
their feet, nothing is more important than the perches they stand
on. Bottlebrush is comfortable to stand on, don't require
gripping, and can be chewed and gnawed as well. After all,
chewing on perches is natural for birds, there aren't many chew toys
in the wild. These perches side mount
using large washers and Lock Nuts. Order one or a dozen, mix
and match to get all your Fids great, comfortable Bottlebrush

| Bottlebrush
pre-drilled toy wood.
Virtually
every parrot owner has spent hard earned money on a chew toy with
the intention of surprising your bird with a great chewy
treat. Usually, two things happen. First and most
common, it's destroyed in hours. That's by design so YOU buy
more. Second, it's totally ignored because basically, it's
boring and uninteresting to your bird. Either way, most parrot owners have chains left over from old parrot toys.
Bottlebrush toy wood are predrilled chunks of Bottlebrush you can string
on a chain and make a parrot toy your bird will love and for you, will
last. I stuff a 9"X15" mesh bag with toy wood, and a bag
of this stuff will keep your bird chewing and happy for a long
time. And for you, the money you'll save will put a smile on
your face, and a grin on your parrots beak.
Here are a couple of ideas. Take a chain, and add one
piece of Bottlebrush. Hang it from an upper step of a gym, or in a
cage. Your bird can hold and chew on this piece, and when done, it
hangs until your bird wants to chew on it again. Take another chain with
one piece, and attach it tightly to the side of your birds cage using quik
links at the top and bottom. Your bird can gnaw on this piece and
love this kind of chew toy.

Bottlebrush
chew toys. Add
a Play Gym toy. Here's
the theory behind these toys. A bird standing in the top of a
tree is life threatening from flying predators. Safety and
security is in the tree, not on the tree. So, I developed this
toy so your bird feels safe and secure when playing on his play
gym. As an added bonus, these are great for chewing and
gnawing, and great as an added play area on their play gym.

Add
a Flexi Toy to your Bottlebrush Play Gym.
The Flexi Toy was developed as a "J" shaped chew toy and
designed to hang under the top branch of a play gym or in a
cage. The center core is flexible, and can be bent into any
position. Plus, chunks of Bottlebrush with colored rope and
rawhide make these great for chewing as well.
Both
of these toys will LAST and be a favorite with your bird. To
